KERRY JOHNSON ANTHONY
President
Susan’s Healthy Gourmet (SHG), LifeSpring Home Nutrition, and Xan Confections
Kerry Johnson Anthony is in charge of managing and growing three companies in her role as president of Susan’s Healthy Gourmet (SHG), LifeSpring Home Nutrition, and Xan Confections, while also being a dedicated full-time mom to her three young children. She has been an integral part of SHG since the company started delivering fresh and healthy calorie-controlled meals twice weekly to homes and offices in 1996. While SHG bears her mother’s name, Kerry is a highly successful go-getter in her own right, working her way up the ladder and learning every position before moving into management – even running SHG’s Los Angeles branch on her own for three years. In 2004 (only age 31 at the time), Kerry was appointed president of SHG and sister company LifeSpring Home Nutrition.
Kerry oversees the ever-important day-to-day duties and wears many hats: She manages the accounting staff, human resources, disciplinary matters, legal issues and marketing for SHG, LifeSpring and Xan. She is the true champion of the corporate culture and integrity and works to ensure that customer service is top notch. Perhaps one of the most important roles Kerry plays is being a vital partner with mother Susan Johnson in the strategic planning and growth of the companies. Kerry truly understands what the heart of SHG, Xan and LifeSpring is all about, which has ultimately led to the companies’ continued success.
Kerry believes success is achieved through constant evolution and learning. She earned an MBA in management and marketing from Loyola Marymount University while working full-time, applying classroom tools directly to the company. She continues to grow as a member of Vistage. As an advocate for children’s health, Kerry has also participated in the CHOC Follies to provide healthcare and research for pediatric diseases. Kerry served on the Advisory Board of the OC Performing Arts center and is currently on the Board of the Ashland Home – a recovery home whose purpose is to provide a safe and caring environment for women to get sober with dignity and build a foundation for recovery. Other nonprofits that have benefited from generous donations and volunteer time from Kerry and SHG include: A Walk to Remember, Susan G. Komen for the Cure, American Cancer Society, NAWBO-OC and Alzheimer’s society.
